Insurance Increase

NOPE......
FT homeowners insurance policy with full comp auto policy for truck and 5th wheel went down but that is compared to rates in So. CAL.

For giggles.ask your ins. agent for identical policy just change of address to TX

That will open your eyes.

We checked.....double rate on 5vr and 50% rate increase on truck (or vice versa..just remember it was a 2X and 1/2 rate increases just to change address from SD to TX)

Sometimes you have to give something to get something.

Full-timer insurance costs more than a standard rv policy because it will be providing liability insurance like your house (for guests) and coverage on the contents of your rv.

Actually the increase in costs was only on the Comprehensive coverage on both the Car and Motorhome.

DO you also have Full Timers Homeowners type coverage?

Yes, I have coverage on stored goods along with personal effects in our MH. Also covered with liability on others that visit in our mh.

Same coverage when you were in UTAH...or added when you went FT and 'moved' to SD?

$300 increase is not really too bad.

If that is the total increase on both, it's not unreasonable. I suspect it's due to more weather-related claims (hail, flooding, tornadoes) in SD than in UT.

You can't expect EVERYTHING to be cheaper, LOL.

One of the factors that influences someone's rate for vehicle insurance is the state of residence. In Florida, I was told that even the county makes a difference.

First off I'm not a full timer I am considering it tho.
Now I spoke with a couple that were, they did the SD thing and their health insurance went up $500 a yr. they then changed to FL and it dropped below what it was before they were Sd residents . Seems there's a lot of variation on many things
