Francesca, do you have a sense of the max FW length that makes sense for reasonable access to parks in the Pacific Northwest?
Whew! that's a tough one for me. I'm a dedicated boondocker...most of my experience is in remote areas.
I rarely see "big" RV's of any type in the areas I like to travel. And it's not just the length that imposes limits in these places...height is a biggie, too. Seems like fifth wheels are so much TALLER these days, since everyone wants a walkaround room up front, I guess. And so many wild places have those pesky "trees" that will persist in having branches hangin' across roadways!
But I'm strictly a recreational camper, content after all these years with a very small setup. I'm not trying to actually live fulltime in it.
I came across an interesting discussion of this subject at another site- various folks talking about limitations imposed by length/type, and the choices thay made based on their experiences. If it's any help, here's the link
Good info. We are both less than 5'6" tall and just yesterday, I figured out the difference in full vs mid profile fifth wheels based on head height in the forward compartment. I'm fine with the shorter trailers and I wondered about that. Thanks for the input and link.
