We are residents of Texas (with a house) currently, but will sell the house and be full time RV travelers.Our son is also a Texas resident with a house. Can we just use his adddress as our address and remain Texas residents; keeping vehicles registered in Texas and travel the country?If so, this seems better than using Escapees to set up an address, etc.Does anyone know if this is legitimate and a good way of working this out?Thanks,Wade Griffin

I don't see why not. The state should not care where you call home as long as your registration matches and you are paying taxes.

That's the way we do it. Daughter collects what mail we get and sends it to us.

That is what I'm doing in NC. My daughters address is where my mail goes, we changed our drivers license and voter registration too. She opens my mail when we are on the road, lets me know how much the bills are and I pay them online. Most bills send me a email anyway. Works great for me, of course we do stay there for a few weeks to visit the grandkids, then we are off again. Seemed much better than a mail forwarding service.

I buy the prepaid mailing envelopes 5 at a time and all she has to do is put the mail in and drop off at the post office. She hold magazines and catalogs until we return home for doctor appointments.

That is what we plan on doing when we hit the road. I am guessing one of the kids will just stay in this house so I won't have to change anything. I will have a place to come back too from time to time, to do maintenance, etc..

We also do the same thing when we sold our house, we use our Daughter and SIL's address.
She throws away the junk mail and sends us the important stuff when needed.

all counties are not taxed the same, especially in NC, might want to check, depending on vehicles owned, UPS locations have mail boxes, works for us in NC.

That's what we'll probably do in FL when and if we ever go fulltime. The one thing I will check on though is that car insurance, and possibly health insurance, is cheaper in certain areas of the state. If the domicile address is in a more metropolitan area, rates are higher. I'll check the counties of the FL mailing services to see if it affects rates significantly.
