Making the Move!

We're "upgrading"! Going from a 2007 KZ Spree 280RLS to a 94 NuWa Champagne Hitchiker 32RKFD. Going older, but bigger than what we have, and much more solid. We're picking it up December 20. We've been wanting a 5'er for a while and this deal came along. Too good to pass up.

  • Truck is an 05 3/4T GMC Diesel. Has the plate in the back, ready for the ball. We have made arrangements for an extension to be put on the 5er. Have talked to several ft'ers that we know and know our truck, and they all say that we will have no problems. :-) "I get by with a little help from my friends"!
  • Scott16 brings up a good point on the height. I don't know about the 94 models but my 06 had a $84 optional height adjustment. The springs and shocks can be bolted to 3 different heights.
  • You have not mentioned what Brand, Trim or year your truck is. If the truck is new. Then you might have Truck rail Clearance issues with the 94 HH. Newer Trucks ride higher than older Trucks. Just something to check on. Best of luck with your new HH.

  • That NADA weight is 'dry' weight.........and that year of trailer the dry weight probably didn't include any added options.
Plus it probably has a CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity) of 3000#

Look on the Data Plate.......left front corner
It will list GVWR plus other important info.

Don't think NUWA site goes back past 1999
  • We didn't check the weight, as we were sure our pickup would pull it. But I just checked, and NADA lists the weight at 9999. Will definitely check out the Hitchiker site! Thanks!
  • Congrats on the 'new' 5vr!

Those older models are heavy..what's the GVWR of that '94 Champagne?
