- BarbaraOKExplorerBoth Dave and our cat, Shadow, have needed care this summer. Shadow got better care. Most vets are very willing to see people who travel - found one in Newport, Oregon that even had Saturday hours just for tourists whose pets had problems. In both cases, they were very good with Shadow, clear with all the options, and asked that we let them know if we had any problems.
Dave. on the other hand, went to the Emergency Room because his back went out to the point he couldn't move without extreme effort and pain that was an 11 on a 1-10 scale. After MRI, they decided it was just muscular as all discs looked normal for a man of his age, wrote a script for pain meds (which didn't help at all) and we had to beg for a wheel chair to get him to the car! Horrible service, etc. We've previously had much better care at Urgent Care clinics. We have learned that when the muscles spasm (usually because it turns cold) he is just on his back for 2-3 days and then everything relaxes and slides back into place when he stands up.
Barb - sdianel_-acct_cExplorerWe use CVS. You can refill prescriptions online and change the pickup location. I do allow an extra day for them to transfer the prescription and get it filled.
If we have an illness, we find an urgent care facility or walk in clinic. We don't travel with pets but I'm sure the RV park manager could recommend a vet. Major cities have emergency vet locations. Many parks where we've stayed give a list of veterinarians. Now that's service! - GruffyExplorerWe bring a 6 month supply. We sign a pharma care declaration and get the meds no problem.
- Dog_FolksExplorerOur doctor gives us renewable prescriptions for an entire year. (NO narcotics). When we travel we use a nationwide chain for the meds.
If we need a doc , we ask the campground we are at for recommendation. Has never been a problem.
Our dog has it even better, All his care is done by Banfield and his records since birth, are all available at any Banfield in the country, by computer.
Wish us humans had that. - C-BearsExplorer

We don't full time but when away for more then a few months I use CVS same as at home. Twice over the years the dog looked in the yellow pages and both times the vet was excellent.
Well, that would be one way to find a vet. My last dog never could read though.
As full timers we use mail order (3 month supply) for our scripts. Our doctors understand our lifestyle and work with us on appointments or waiting on tests until we are back in the old "home" area. - K_CharlesExplorerWe don't full time but when away for more then a few months I use CVS same as at home. - darsbenExplorer IIWe use mail order pharmacy for meds except narcotics. Express scripts will deliver you meds anywhere you ask, even hold for pick up at a post office
