I switched to using a "USPS Store" address. (NOT the US post office)
It's a physical address and they provide you with a number that is added to address with a # sign NOT a po box number. And they have all the same forwarding services, etc. you need. I find them very accommodating.
Social Security was just fine with my new address.
SD is very well known as being used for RV'ers. We all knew it would be just a matter of time until the gov stepped in to make it difficult. TX is having it's problems also regarding vehicle registrations/residency.
There are 'USPS Stores' ALL over in all the states. They are privately owned. Pick a state! I picked a state that had the least amount of taxes charged for income and no emission testing.
