Medicare and medigap insurance

All plans will have the same coverage for the same letter. Rates vary by where you live. I sell this in Michigan and we have 3 different rates by zip codes. There is also a high deductible F for considerably less money with about a $2000. deductible. The deductible changes every year by Medicare rules. Plans go up to L & M for plans with lesser benefits. Plan F is the Cadillac plan.

I have a Plan F that covers everything. It is so much easier to budget the monthly cost of the plan than worry if we'll have money available if we have to see a doctor/ER/hospital.

That is why, when one is buying a Medigap plan, they MUST read just what each plan covers. Whatever plan they choose, the only difference is the price of the plan when comparing it to other plans with like letter. If one has a Plan C (example only) in New York and another one has a Plan C in Texas (or any other state), those Plans C cover exactly the same thing, no matter where they're bought or where you are when you need to use it. Ditto for every other medigap plan. The only difference is the monthly fee.

Of course you can. But whether the Supp will reimburse you for its share is determined by the rules of that plan. You obviously have a generous plan. But I can guarantee you that they are not all that way. And that is the major reason why the premiums vary.

Medicare supplement plans have nothing to do with ACA coverage.

And though it is true that all the lettered supplement plans offer the same benefits by rule, there are differences: (1)The premium is different from one company to the next, and (2)The panel of providers, i.e. which doctors and hospitals and labs you can use to get the maximum benefit, is also different from one company to the next.

Under the Affordable Care Act coverage is in all 50 states. Just stay away from the website.

Each supplemental plan F (or A through whatever) has the exact same benefits as every other plan F (or A through whatever). No, the Plan F might not be available in all parts of all states but the options are exactly the same where they are offered. ..

I'm not talking about how the insurance companies are rated; I'm talking about what the Plans cover.

You best read the report in Consumers Reports that, Cause I can't get the companies that offer plans on the other end of the state, and they are rated better than what I can get. They may be federally regulated, but that's about as far as it goes.

I believe that the supplemental Plan F options are different in every state, and even in different areas of the state! I don't get the same Plan F options that people who live 300 miles away in the capital district get. Just who should the OP call???
