I am absolutely amazed at what people want to bring with them in an RV. We have had the same White sewing machine for at least 40 years. I know it has not been used in the past 3 years since we brought our current house and before then it was in storage for 3 years.
What does anyone do with a sewing machine, especially while traveling? Someone mentioned pillow cases. Yow. I think I paid $10 bucks for 4 additional pillow cases from Walmart. There is no way to buy thread and fabric to make your own at those prices. That is true of pretty much every article of clothing. I can't imagine firing up the generator to run a sewing machine to make pillow cases. The gas would cost as much as the pillow cases.
When folks say "pillow cases", they don't always mean standard bed pillows. Lots of folks make their own cases for throw pillows - price some of those and you'll see that making your own is very much cost effective.
Also, sewing is a hobby with many people. It's something they do to relieve tension, relax, etc. Just the same as others who carry big heavy telescopes, ham radio gear, drones, ATVs, and so on. So while I wouldn't bother with a sewing machine (or ham radio or ATV...), I understand the desire to bring your hobby with you (I bring my camera gear - which ways twice as much as Naio's current sewing machine :) ).
