We did that for a while.
Two problems developed.
The biggest one was communication. If we would get somewhere, and I needed to change the exit or streets where I was pulling the trailer - the wife wouldn't catch on. Normally her catching a red light and having to stop behind me wasn't a problem. But I had to be very careful to stay on route.
The second problem is that we simply could not enjoy traveling together in separate vehicles, and couldn't rest when we swapped driving the truck/TT.
Yes a big truck is a problem in much of the country. There have been many places we wanted to go where the truck simply doesn't fit. We've had to spend a couple thousand dollars each year renting a small car.
As full-timers, we will never again get a truck/ TT or truck/ 5er. It will be a Class A/ Class C and toad in our future.
