Since when is using public assistance "standing on your own two feet"?
I was about the ask the same question. The young lady needs to be thinking about getting some kind of education or vocational training so she can support herself and the child as soon as possible. The father of the child should also be held accountable and paying child support. Public Assistance is not standing on one's own two feet. It's not meant to live on indefinitely.
