Not necessarily.
Group 29 12 volt batteries are about 115 amp-hours
golf cart batteries are about 225 amp-hours
two of each type will give close to the same number of amp-hours (230 and 225, respectively).
Under heavy loads the 12 volts may exhibit less voltage "sag".
Really about the only way to run an air conditioner is to have a trailer that is hauled behind a motorized RV that is chock full of batteries. The ideal would be to run at 48 volts with 24 two volt cells in series. That would power a 48 volt inverter which could be used to power the RV's 120 volt electrical system.
The batteries weigh in at about 115 lbs each and cost $350.00 each. They are 1050 amp-hours each.
Total weight 2760 lbs
Total cost $8400.00
Total capacity 25,200 watts
Useable watts 12,600 watts (enough to run a 1200 watt air conditioner for ten hours)
life span if well treated is 20 years.
BUT, you still have to have a way to recharge them.
