No it's not leaking out of the schrader valve. It's another place to add stuff to the tank. I'm guessing for winter isn't and such. It's a bigger opening than the one for the hose. But they are connected. When you open it up you can see the hose opening where the water comes in when the hose is connected. The bigger water opening doesn't seem to get a good seal.
