I bought a Visioner Mobility Cordless Color Scanner from Fry's recently and love it. It is completely cordless, with rechargeable batteries and a memory card for storage if you do not want to connect it to your computer. I use it for photos and it will scan as PDF, it is quick, small enough to carry in a computer case and the photos come out great. It is limited to a 14" photo or document, so most of my legal forms scan very easily. I found the cordless option very handy while scanning a bunch of family photos, as the family discussed photos around the table, I was scanning them and still able to be part of the conversation. JH
