This may not be the best place to post my question but I'll try. This will be my first time going south in a class a. We will be staying for 2 months in the panhandle then going to the keys. Since my unit only uses LP for the hot water and of course the furnace runs on LP, how do you refill the 18 gal. LP tank without moving the rv? Of course, when we traveled in the TT, it was just a matter of switching tanks. Thanks and don't make fun of me.

Are you staying in private parks? If so then some of them have an outside service that comes around and fills the tanks. If you make rsvp's you might ask about this service.

Most places that sell LP gas can fill it for you, but you have to go to them, they cannot bring it to you. We use Tractor Supply here, but most campgrounds have a propane fill station. If not there is usually one close by, and the campground can usually tell you where. If you do not leave the water heater on all the time, you will actually use very little. Furnace takes more, but down here you probably will not use it a lot. We always carry at least one small electric heater in the class A, and it usually keeps us plenty warm overnight. BTW, I usually fill the tank at the start of the season, and have had to go get gas only one time. That was the one time we stayed in a COLD climate through November and December of a VERY cold winter.

Don't know about the particular park you are in if they will allow pump trucks in to fill motorhomes. Most parks here in Yuma, AZ. do allow trucks in the park but the pumpers charge about $1.00 to $1.25 more per gallon. Most motorhome owners here get an extend-a-stay kit and a 30 lb. tank and just take it to the refill joint.

For longer stays, we have an "Extend-A-Stay" setup connected to our 27 gallon main tank that lets us run the coach on a portable 30 lb DOT cylinder we carry with us. When the 30 lb'er is empty, we just temporarily turn on main tank until we get the small one filled and reconnected. Amazon and other online sources have the same and/or similar units available.

They also make a device called a hott rod if your water heater is a conventional gas model and not an aqua hot. Beside using gas, I find the noise to be offensive.
