We traveled constantly for 16 years without major repairs. Really! Even for the summer in Alaska and across Canada.
If you do regular maintenance and get a quality RV for your full-timing you can usually avoid it. For maintenance (oil change/etc) we'd make an appointment at where we were heading... could be a month away. We'd show up in the morning (or previous night) and the work was always completed that day. If early enough we'd take off otherwise we were always allowed to stay on their lot - most of the time with electric. We'd then leave in the morning.
For warranty - we never returned to our selling dealer. We had a few minor issues as most new RVs will have. Again, we called our manufacturer to give us another dealer's name in the direction we were traveling. We called for an appt. and they had ample time to order in parts, if needed. When we arrived the work was done. Again, if you purchase new from a quality manufacturer their dealers will do the work no matter where you bought it. We found this to be the case, anyway, and in talking to other full-timers they had no issues like weekenders seem to have. Very few full-timers would have to stay in motels. Never heard of it happening in our circle of full-timing friends which was a lot of RVers.
As mentioned, many RV parks have a list of local mobile mechanics that will come to you and the park would allow them to do so. Naturally, it wouldn't be for any major overhaul.
Living and traveling in a RV - it has all been worked out. There's a solution for everything. Don't worry about it.
