Not a full timer but I would argue that RV side of things is of less concern that the chassis side. RV stuff can almost always be fixed by mobile mechanic. If you have break down your rigs going to be towed to shop and you may have to check into motel while the issue is diagnosed/fixed. Probably makes sense to put that in your budget.
We've spent time in repair yards, plugged in, with the rig being worked on during the day and we having our own bed/pillow at night. Most places that work on motorhomes, especially DPs, have figured out that having place for people to plug in is a way to get and keep customers. If you have a Cummins engine, they you quickly learn that Coach Care is found throughout the country and is the place to go for chassis work if you are in an unfamiliar area. And most owners have also found a place to go to for yearly maintenance in their 'backyards'. For instance, we used Coach Care for years, but once we found ourself in the Phoenix area for several months we looked to see if there was another service facility that was familiar with Alpines - turns out Massey Diesel Truck & RV was happy to work on them. They have facilities for you to stay the night (we were on the the lift (lowered for the night, of course) once, plugged in at a different location. During the day, we were in the customer lounge, or went out to breakfast, etc. We spent 3 weeks at the Coach Care facility in Elkhardt, Indiana - they have 6 concrete "RV" sites with power, along with a dump site and site to fill your fresh water tank. And most of that time was waiting for parts to come in.
