Some full time questions from a bunch of newbies

So my husband and I are making the leep....well starting the process anyway and we had a few questions after lots of research ( still loads more to do) Currently, I have three random questions ...

Sorry, nycgrl, they are our children...our future. This is about the parents wanting to escape....technically. I have a doctorate and my wife is well educated but we are not teachers. Neither are these parents. And now they have no partner...a real teacher.
