Spring is Right Around the Corner :::

and I am checking in with my friends at RV.Net! Some of you may recall my posts from last year talking about returning to full timing. My plan remains to get back out there late this summer. This time I am determined to get the the big Quartzsite RV show in January 2017! I came to the Bend Oregon area to visit family in September of 2014 and have been stuck here ever since. It has been a horrible winter (I'm a 50+ year San Diego native!) and the snow is finally melting! Hooray! I am packing away my dollars and will be picking up hopefully a cheap fixer fiver this time... I'll be posting in this string as things move along... Happy trails to all!!!

    amdriven2liv, thanks for the post.. Your upcoming trip should be fun.
    Bend is ok if you are retired but I'm the owner of a brain that wants to go go go for now.. I'm dreaming of as Dylan said... "Sitting on this bank of sand and watch the river flow!" The Colorado that is... Sun forevermore!

    You will be a snow bird that decided not to migrate back North!

    I have seen a lot of Southern Natives flee Bend after a bad winter, especially in '93. That was a fun one. 80+ inches of snow fell that winter.

    I retire in 35 days and we will be doing a one year full time starting in May. Starting in Washington/Oregon and going to Florida and return. If we enjoy the experience, we will do another year.

    When we return, Bend will be our home. (and yes, 4x4 vehicle will be in the garage!)

    Thanks Lonnie & Diane, I surely will. I am going to be looking for some new friends to make and really need some good times out there...
    One of the first things I plan to do when I get to the desert is set up my barbq and start pumping out all sorts of great food and just give it away to anyone who passes by.. I love to cook and don't eat much meat...

    gpopp, YIKES! Too cold for me. I'm in a suburb of Bend here in OR and we did have some 8 below this year but now it's all melted away and I can finally drive my 2 wheel drive "California" truck again..

    samsontdog, Now you're talkin' my language... I could easily live in 100+ as long as I'm by the Colorado River or a nice pool...

    sdianel, I guess Iowa is known for its cold weather among other things... We'll get back to summer... won't be long now!

    2 months til I will be camping, however it is going to be -12 tonight and snow tomorrow.

    Spring may be right around the corner but not here. It was 8 degrees in south central Pennsylvania this morning. And it's getting colder this weekend.
    Never trust a Ground Hog for the weather forecast. :(
