Good Sam may get you discounts of 10% at some commercial parks. AAA also does.I would make sure you have some type of breakdown towing coverage. It's not cheap. We pay around $139 a year for Good Sam coverage. But we used it once and it paid off. You may want to get one of the books on low cost and free campgrounds. In the midwest, some towns have free campgrounds where you can stay for a few days. There are many federal campgrounds in the west that allow boondocking. So get yourself set up for that by having multiple batteries, a solar panel and a small Honda generator to recharge batteries. If boondocking or staying in campgrounds without hookups appeals to you, I would look for a trailer that has larger holding tanks. We have a 2015 Kestone Cougar 26ft TT. It has a 60 gallon freshwater tank, 38 gallon black water and 2 grey water tanks for a total of 76 gallons. That way you can stay out longer without having to dump tanks.
