To expand a bit on my first post - we would probably go to TN 4-5 times per year. Probably long weekends with a couple week long trips.
This is key. We are 49 and 51. Our daughter lives in Avon, CO and our son lives in Dallas,TX. We have family in WA, OR and CA. We can be in the area without even disrupting their lives and be in the area for a very long time. We don't even need their permission (since we are not staying in their home), we just arrive.

Another concern we are having about settling too quick in Florida is that we lived there for almost 20 years and at the time couldn't wait to leave. We aren't overly excited about moving back to Florida but the money is calling us. If we got there and decided that we just couldn't take it, we could up and leave with a RV. We have had a couple RV's in the past and lived in one for a month when we moved to TN. I know that is not long term but we adjusted fine for that time frame. We love to camp. Being a full-timer and being able to travel has been a long time dream. We aren't there yet since we don't have a big enough nest egg for us to feel comfortable being able to travel and be real full timers.
From what I am getting from your comments and you've read all the comments on your post, you are leaning towards the 5th. I agree. IMO, a 5th will give you freedom. If it doesn't work out in FL, you can always turn on the ignition. You seemed to be worried about money (that's not the American way lol). I would call the Dave Ramsey show and get his take. You're debt free, which he will like, but he may not take very well on the idea of being mobile, but he can give you a perspective as far as your financial situation and whether you should do it or not. I would be interested in his answer and please post his answer when you get it. I listen to him almost everyday for a long time and we have been debt free because of his advise. If you plan on long terming it at a month at a time, I would put aside 800 for park and electric. Go from there on your budget and see what else you will need to live on. Remember to put aside money for diesel. The average RVer in the USA travels 3,000 miles per year, which is about 300 gallons of diesel X $4 per gallon=$1,200. Our insurance on our RV is $1,800 per year. Yours should be much cheaper. You might look into workkamping as well that way you can travel from park to park.
