Your basic needs will be clothing, bathroom supplies, and kitchen stuff. Then tools. Then entertainment/hobbies.
Keep your pantry small. I am still training myself on that one. I've always had 3-4 month supply of food on hand. Stores are plentiful. The Europeans tend to shop for food the day the day they are going to eat it. I don't think I am ready for that but have cut way back on my pantry requirements.
After a few months you will find out what cooking supplies you are not using. Get rid of them. I got rid of my pots and pans because I tend to cook in my electric pot, electric skillet, convection microwave, and slow cooker.
You don't need all those clothes. I keep reducing my closet but still have more than I use. One of these days I'll get it right. Since he is still working, hubby will need more closet space.
Not any creative ideas on storage here as I'm not familiar with your unit. Just the common sense ones on limiting the amount of stuff.
One thing. Take a look at your cabinets. Could some use shelves to double your storage space? Have hubby install some for you.
