We have the best of both worlds....been full time for nine years. Kept a home the first two years...almost never there and when we were it was nothing but work.
We know own an RV lot in a gated community in south Texas. Our HOA dues pay to keep everything maintained and we come and go as we like. The next two seasons it is rented as we won't be there...another added benefit, it pays for itself when we're not using it. This gives us the security of having home base with none of the hassle...works for us!
