There are no real 'exits' on 93. Everything is just on the side of the road.

Dakota, having to break into your truck doesn't sound fun, I couldn't believe that I had to use my wife's blow dryer to get out of my camper! It has become a handy tool

Like several others, we travel it often and always use I-84 to US-93 in Twin Falls and then south to Ely. Take US-6 west out of Ely and pick up SR-318 about 22 miles from town. 318 will run back into US-93 then follow that to I-15 and Las Vegas. We will be returning home to Cascade the last week of December that way and then come back to AZ the middle of Jan, the same way. I just watch the weather and can hunker down for a day if needed, but NV does an awesome job of keeping that route open and in good condition.

You're going to have more trouble from LV to I-10 than you will have from ID down, unless you take a western route down to I-10.

Do NOT go through SLC unless you have a death wish. They are slow to clean the roads and the traffic is horrendous for the 100 - 150 miles through the SLC vicinity.

93 is my preferred route. There are some hills, but nothing too bad. But if snow is forecast it can be downright dangerous -- it's pretty remote, there's very little traffic, and road clearing can take a while.

On the other hand, if the weather is nasty, I-84/I-15 is no joy, either, and in addition there is traffic.

When I have done that drive I have gone thru SLC, it's a few more miles but the roads are much better.

At ELY we take 6 to 318 to 93 to shave some miles and time. Mostly very flat and straight. ELY is our half way point to split the drive into two days. Start way early if you plan to make Las Vegas in one day.

84 all the way to 15 to Las Vegas is the Loong way.

I'd leave too, if I could. I'm having to use a crow bar to get my truck doors open every morning. :E Either way you decide, it may be slow going. On 93, & from ELY, I'd take route 6 to 318 which returns to 93 just before Alamo. It's about 40-50 miles shorter that way & about the same type of road.

I would stick with 84 and I15. Gotta go through SLC, but still better than Nevada back roads...
