Travel with guns
When you are a full timer what issues are there with having a gun for protection? Restrictions when crossing state lines? Thank you.

I want to say thanks for the general comments and information I’ve gleaned from this thread, particularly those from working and retired law enforcement officers. I have a CCL, but I obtained mine after being trailed by a coyote in a state park for over a mile. The critter stayed a distance behind us on the path, but no aggressive moves on my part would run him off. I wasn’t worried about me being attacked, there were lots of trees to climb, but my dog would have been killed had it chosen to attack us (my dog is a very mild-mannered golden and the first thing she would have done is roll on her back in submission, only to be ripped open). As for two-legged predators, I’m 6’5” 220 lbs and in excellent shape, not the typical target of choice for your run-of-the-mill dirt-bag. Still it’s good to be prepared.

I can travel in all 50 states with a loaded and concealed firearm and be completely legal. So there is a way it can be done.
Can I assume that this is because you are a retired LEO? :?

Tampering with evidence at a crime scene seems like a bad idea - especially if that evidence is a human body.
Yea, but you can be sued for wronful death if you shot somebody outside your house in California. There was a true story about a bugular who fell through a skylight breaking in to a warehouse. He was not killed but hurt. He sued the owners of the building and won a judgemnent.
Ture story...happened in California.
