Why would anyone take their kids RV'ing and then stay in a Walmart parking lot instead of a CG? Where they could meet other camping kids instead of the indigents that come out at night in a public parking lot.
This above is just a silly comment.
Do you really think anyone plans a camping trip with their kids and plans to camp at Walmart as their ultimate/final destination?
Walmart is a convenient stop over ON THE WAY to the state park, national park or whatever destination. Sometimes there is a long travel day spent getting to the destination. We have done it both ways (sometimes staying in a Walmart lot, sometimes in a campground). Getting in late and then leaving early to get back on the road, all we are looking for is a place to stop driving, park, have a meal and go to sleep. No doubt we've stayed in some beautiful state parks, etc. but never had the opportunity to see hardly any of it, because by early AM, we were on the road to our next stop or ultimate destination.
