- gmctoymanExplorer"Free" Walmart parking....these are usually our most expensive overnights ! Spend a week, or more out in the woods, then go to Wally an see how "free" it is ! Great marketing and a win win for both of us.
- Roy_LynneExplorerThere is a Cabela's just north of Olympia on I5 that allows overnighting. Its about an hour south of Seattle. Its at the Marvin Road Exit. There is a Camping world just north of Tacoma on I5 near Fife which is about 30 minutes to Seattle.
- RoyBExplorer III don't usually plan the use of the WALMART type over nite areas but do know where they are along the way. Most of us probably run the same main routes for the most part as we head out for the parts unknown so it definitely is a good idea to know where you can PLAN B overnight.
I like the BASS PRO SHOPS and the CRACKER BARREL places for their nice breakfast runs... Some BASS PRO SHOPS with their country scene layouts have better parking areas for the travelers than some camp grounds setup places are haha. Some have high hedges setup separating the parking areas between trailers. Alot have 20AMP service connections too... Always carry the dogbone "long" adapters where ever you go. Even some McDonnalds will have the 20AMp connections to use.
Roy Ken - Golden_HVACExplorerAlso near Portland, more to the east a short distance is a Wal Mart near the Fairview Camping World, both normally have a few RVs parked there nightly - it is I 84, exit #16, 238th Drive. So it would be 16 miles east of downtown Portland. The parking lot is about 1/4 mile north of the freeway, and normally you can not hear the traffic going by on the interstate, so it is fairly quiet. From Exit #16, take 238th drive north to Sandy Blvd, then left to Wal Mart or Right to Camping World. You will have buildings between the freeway and parking lot, so not nearly as much noise. It is about 8 miles east of I 205, the easier way to go north past Portland. I 5 can be very conjested at the Columbia river bridge, crossing into Washington.
The Camping world noted above for Portland is along I5, and closer to downtown Portland, and subject to much more morning traffic. This parking lot can be seen from I5, and probably has significant truck noise all night long.
Good luck!

:C app DesertHawk - mockturtleExplorer IIThe Walmart in Chehalis, WA, has trucks and RVs there most every morning. It's about halfway between Seattle & Portland.

- bdpreeceExplorer IIPortland area stay in the Wal Mart in Woodburn 30 miles South or stay at the Camping World in Wilsonville about 20 miles South of Portland. Both allow overnight parking.
