I can live fine selling most of my "stuff" but no safety net would frighten the bejeeze out of me at this stage of my life.
Still, sounds like you two are still in your 20's/30's so if something unanticipated happens you'll have an easier time picking up the pieces. Not being judgmental of youse. Just laughing at the younger version o' me through the passage of time. It was fun for sure but well there ya go.
Enjoy the horizons ahead.
Please let me clarify. The no safety net means no storage center full of our stuff. As far as the other type of safety net I have had to learn how to accumulate some on very little. Saving money is a game I enjoy playing and with that mindset we are fine.
Cat's employer sees her value. They pay for tuition on top of her salary. She does very well for herself so by living well below our means we can live on half, save half.
After my stroke I went down for the count. I lost everything. I picked up a Dave Ramsey book and was sold. Been doing things Dave's way ever since.
If Cat and I had to go back to living in a house we'd be buying all sorts of furniture again. I hope that doesn't happen for a long time.
