We launched this past Friday!

It was an ugly slide into home plate. On Wednesday, June 17- movers came and took our stuff to storage. We spent Thursday and Friday moving boxes into the camper. By Sunday, we were at Disney's Fort Wilderness. And we've been unpacking and settling in since. Not quite how we envisioned it, but it's what we're doing.

We aren't "fulltiming" more that we are on a very extended trip. The current plan is for 14-months of weekly moves. Incredibly hectic and I have already heard all of the dire warnings that it's the absolute worst approach to fulltiming. I hear ya, I get it- but it's what we're going to try. :)

Like many others, I'll be updating my blog as I go:

  • Congratulations on your "New Lifestyle".
It's going on 13 years for us and we still enjoy it. Really dread that day when we have it give it up.

Don't listen to the warnings of others. The beauty of full timing is that the lifestyle is what YOU make it.

Everyone has their own "style" of full timing. Also be aware it is always changing, evolving so be ready to embrace the changes.

    Most of all: Enjoy it.
  • Congrats on beginning to enjoy life..! We did the move every week or so for the first two years. We enjoyed it a lot. While you didn't ask for it, a tip we learned was not to go go go all the time. Life is much easier if you do the tourist thing for a day or two then take a 'day off' and do very little. This gives you time to recoup and you won't have that frazzled feeling. Now we spend a minimum of a week, usually two, at any one place. Many cgs offer stay 7 pay for 6 so you save money too. Take your time, it's a big country with lots to see, don't try to do it in one day....safe travels....Dennis
