Thanks for your note Dave,
Glad your new trailer is working out well for you! We picked ours up last week and took it camping on Sunday. Set up was remarkably easy and straight forward. Generally we are very happy with it. My wife figured out how to use the back cushions from the dinette to extend the front bed so we can sleep with our heads at the front. This is a major improvement for me as I am 6'6". Now I can stretch out and move at night more comfortably. Also helps since our Chocolate Lab expects to sleep with us.
So far our main complaint is, like yours, that with just my wife and I using it at night really (#1 only) the light gauge for both the black and grey water tanks went to three of four lights lit in less than 48 hours. We took no showers in the trailer and washed very few dishes. Not sure how they expect a trailer that can sleep 6-8 to get by with that configuration. For the money that seems a poor choice.
We wondered if maybe the gauge is malfunctioning some how or if we are misreading it. E means empty and F means full right, so with three lights lit that means the black and grey water tanks are mostly full right?
Please tell me, what is a 15 gallons tote and how does it work? Extra or overflow tank? Thanks.
Also got to say the "instructions" that come with the trailer are not user friendly at all. They are more about installation of each individual product than for use of the product. After your orientation at the dealer I asked and was assured there is a users manual, that would help when it comes time for me to do each to the important tasks. When I called from the campsite the service manager told me his experience with the papers provided with the trailer has been the same as mine -- NOT THERE.
Lighting the hot water heater was a trip because the instructions are not user friendly, the pilot knob was did not line up with the red button and of course there was no diagram to show where the actual pilot is located.
Would think they could put together an owners manual that is designed to for the user.
Also cannot figure out why the vent in the bathroom ceiling is over the toilet. Sure would seem to make more sense to have it over the shower for both ventilation of heat and humidity, and so that if it rains while the vent is open the rain comes in in the shower not on the toilet or the person sitting on the commode.
I did get one of the covers for the vent which I will install just need to get my tall ladder and the trailer in the same place at the same time.
The air conditioner/fan is very loud even on low which makes it impossible to listen to the radio or watch TV, DVD, etc while the AC is on. Again, for the money that seems a poor choice.
Anyway, frankly I am thinking all the manufacturers do it the same way. However, I will say that our 1998 Forest River Rockwood Premier pop-up came with an owner's manual and it is also available online.
Let me know what you think and how you like it as you go along the rode. Glad you are enjoying it so far. Thanks again.
Cheers,
Chris
