Over time, I've just learned when its time to dump the tanks. My black and grey tanks are 30 / 30 / 30 gallon. My fresh water is 50 gallon, and my blue tote is 32 gallon. I dump every other day, unless on full hook-ups, then maybe more.
But I take advantage of all the resources built into my camper. My shower grey water and the toilet black water both flow to a single outlet. The kitchen galley flow to a separate outlet.
I use a Flush King style bayonet mount 3rd slider valve on my outlets. And also have a clear extension section so I can see what's actually coming out.
Advantage? Well? Flush the black tank first completely until it's not running any more. You can see this through the clear section. Then close off the Flush King valve. Now open the grey water valve and let the grey water back-flush into the black tank for about 5-10 seconds and then close it again. Just that quick, the rush of water from the grey tank will break up anything remaining in the black tank, at least loosen it up a bit. Now, with the grey closed, open the Flush King again and dump the black tank a second time. Watch the magic! So much more will come out of that tank, you be shaking your head! Depending upon how much grey water you have, you can repeat this again, maybe even a 3rd time. For us, in 2 days, with 2 taking Navy showers 3 times, I can back flush 3 times. It doesn't really matter how much is in the black tank originally. The back flush pulls anything remaining out after the original first dump. After the 2nd or 3rd black dump, then close the black valve and let the remaining grey water flush out the house.
This process utilizes or recycles the grey water and is not just dumped into the ground!
