- Roads_Less_TravExplorer IIWe use Alternative Resources in South Dakota for everything - Mail forwarding, vehicle registration, plates for vehicles...
There is an insurance agency next door to them that handles full-time RV insurance. They've been super to work with.
There's lots of info about full-time RVing here:
Full-time RV Lifestyle Tips & Tricks - carp65ExplorerWe have been with Alternative Resources in Sioux Falls, SD for going on 7 years.
Have never had any problem getting mail forwarded to wherever we are. SD registration for vehicles can be done on-line. At present drivers licenses have
to be obtained in person every 5 years. It is my understanding that soon even
these will be obtainable on line. Great state and very RV friendly! - Clay_LExplorerYou might want to read the info HERE on what constitutes a legal domicile as opposed to a residence.
We chose SD and use Alternative Resources as our mail forwarding service and address. They have some good info on SD as a domicile on their web site. - Don_and_EileenExplorerWe've found SD great for a lot of reasons, including a great mail service in Madison. My Dakota Address. Terri is fabulous! She's helped us out with vehicle registrations, information for re-licensing, and even helped us locate an attorney in order to change our wills. She responds immediately to requests if we need something scanned and emailed and updates us whenever our mail comes in.
SD does not have vehicle inspections, so we don't need to worry about that when we're driving through as those who do who are registered in TX. - gatorcqExplorerFlorida, is getting away with being RV friendly. SD and Texas are the main ones right now.
Livingston, Tx is home to Escapees mail forwarding.
Either Rapid City, SD or sioux Falls, SD for other mail forwarding mail boxes services.
Just do a search on Domicile, either here of on the Web. Another item to be aware of is the cost to vehicles, insurance (Health & vehicles), other items will need to be thought out.
Susan & I changed to Rapid City, SD. However, ALL of out mail goes to Montgomery, IL. (Her daughter). So we are SD residents (driver License), but our mailing address is in Montgomery, IL. Domicile and mailing address can be different. Daughter, reads, discusses and then scan and email what is important to us. This saves us $$ in forwarding mail to a location. All of our bills have the Montgomery, IL mailing address. Go to the Ecapees forum " http://www.rvnetwork.com/ " for further info - ventrmanExplorerI use the UPS Store in Tennessee. Tennessee has no Income Tax for Individuals. I am very Satisfied with this Arrangement. They have a Great Mailbox Service. They will forward your Mail. Just tell them where you will be and allow Time for your Mail to get to you. all you have to do is to leave a Debit or Credit Card Number on File to pay the Postage.
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorermail service www.myrvmail.com in Crestview FL. They can also set up your address for domicile.
Escapees in Livingston TX is another resource. - EycomExplorerFull timers generally consider Florida, Texas, and S.D. as the most favored states to declare domicile, due to lax residency requirements, no personal State Income tax, and liberal or no vehicle inspections. Of course, you should view all your needs including health insurance before deciding. Professional mail-forwarding services in those states also comply with Home Land Security and can provide you with a physical address needed in acquiring a DL, vehicle licensing and voter's registration. Good luck.
- donn0128Explorer IISouth Dakota. Many people use everything there. Including mail forwarding.
