Not being a smart guy, but water is where ever you can get it, legally of course.
Anywhere from rest areas, truck stops with RV dumps, (always in public place near any RV dump be sure to look for a sign that says "POTABLE" water). To more unusual places, in back of convenience stores or even from deep sink in a small town laundry mat. Sometimes they say no problem, other times you can't fit behind them in large RV's but lots of water faucets around once you start really looking. In small towns you might find a Elks or Eagles clubs or VFW that don't have any camping "facilities" listed in any book but usually they don't mind letting get some water. I usually chip in $5.00 to the "coffee" fund. Also private campgrounds that have full hook ups are a good choice to stop by before going out to middle of nowhere. Do the laundry, re-charge batteries, answer e-mails, dump and fill up on water. That way your only carrying water some of the way. Keep in mind the whole ball game changes in winter.
Hope that's specific as much as possible.
