We are long time experienced RVers but just thinking a little about going full-time. So, not sure where to start finding campgrounds to look at and their rates for staying several months. We would probably be interested in Florida and/or the southwest US for winter and states such as Wyoming, Montana for summer. I see quite a bit of info on the internet but pining down long term rates seem difficult. I think we would need to look at rates in the $300-$500/Mo. range rather than $1000 range. Does anyone have a good, clear source of information on this matter? Much appreciated. We currently have a house in west central Illinois.

Rv Park Reviews.....LINKPick the state you are interested in then the city/town you are interested in then check out the reviews for the various CGs in that area. Then you can click on that CGs website link and check out their daily/weekly/monthly rates.You have to do the research when you know where you want to go/be and based upon your travel/interests.Have fun!

We currently have a house in west central Illinois.In Florida, in the $300.00-$500.00, range you will probably have to stay in the north part of Florida, and away from the coasts. (Central Florida) As you move south or near the coasts, the price rises proportionally based on location. Of course, there are exceptions but they will take a lot of research to find, or a member recommendation here. Hope this helps.

I have never found Rv park reviews to contain the info you want. It will be tough to find a monthly rate in the - 3-5 hundred range.Good luck

They have limited amenities, but great people and a clean park. $299.70 plus electric. There are others, but you have to look.

You will definitely want to check out the Escapees parks. For instance, there's a beautiful park in Benson, AZ for $280/m +electric. This is a co-op park. Escapees has two kinds of parks - co-op, owned by members and home-owned, owned by Escapees. Escapees has many more perks for full-timers. Check it out.

I stayed at Williston Crossings RV Resort near Gainesville for 3 months last winter and I don't think I've ever seen a nicer place. If you were to stay 6 months it would be $2875 + electric. 5 months is $2794.

The further south you go in Florida, the more expensive it gets, but your monthly electric/propane bill will also be less. My electric bill was $100/month.

But don't wait to reserve a site at any Florida parks.

You might check out www.escapees.com. They have some parks in Texas, Florida, and Arizona you could use for winter time.

For longer stays in the winter go to the Snowbird forum and put in your requirements and ask for help in finding something in your price range.

The best place to go is to the individual campground website. It they don't show montly rates, call them.

There are plenty of parks in Florida that offer 300-500 monthly rates, but the further south the more expensive. You can expect $1500 in the Keys and the further north, the cheaper it will be.

Depending on your circumstances, if you're looking at staying somewhere for 3 to 5 months, look at volunteering for a free site. volunteer.gov is a good site that will give you some info.

Unfortunately there isn't one place where you can find campgrounds that lists their monthly rates. All the ideas listed above should help.
Here's one that is less than $500 per month in NW Florida at Defuniak Springs:

They fill up in the winter so I would call early. Some cold temps but warms up often.
another one not fancy but good rates is Thousand Palms Resort (I wouldn't call it that) in Lake Panasoffkee, FL on Hwy 44. Near the town of Inverness which has shopping, restaurants and friendly people. Read the reviews on both if you're interested on www.rvparkreviews.com
