IMHO, as long as you own and reside in a home in CO you'll be asking for trouble if you try to claim SD residency. It's a different story for fulltimers whose only residence is their RV which keeps moving from state to state.
CO is where you have all your ties - home, doctors, dentists. It's where you vote. That pretty much sums up the concept of domicile.
