It's definitely not because of age...we, and many others are older than you. :)
I think you just need to have that first trip completed so you can see that you have nothing to worry about. Things happen to all of us and when they do, they somehow get resolved.
If you're heading to Tucson, one stop I recommend you make is the Escapees park in Benson, AZ and if you're not a member yet, you can join up in their office. Plan to stay in the park at least a week or two and you'll find the most friendly, helpful full-timers and you won't want to continue onto Tucson! If you could even stay until Jan 1 you'll have many holiday happenings, meals, fun to enjoy with folks like 'family'. You'll meet new friends - guaranteed. It's a great place for the holidays.
