Wi-Fi Boosters

I read an article a month or so ago about a device that boosts Wi-Fi signals by pulling in multiple Wi-Fi signals and combining those into one stronger signal. I can't recall the name.

Anyone use such a device? If so, are you satisfied with it?
  • We use PDQ Connect for both our boat and Motorhome. It can pick up from several miles away. But do not forget, campgrounds advertise "wifi", not internet. So even if you have a really good boosted signal, that does not mean good internet.

    Marketing hype.
    It doesn't/can't work that way.
  • This is my favorite WiFi booster. No, it's just for one WiFi Signal but finding multiple open WiFi Networks is pretty rare anyway. It costs about $100 and I am using it at the moment to connect to a very weak signal several 100 feet away.

  • Last I heart WeBoost (formally Wilson Electronics) was only doing Cellular, not wifi. Doing it well I might add.

cradlepoint wipipe ... it will combine wifi, cellular and hard wired connections (which could be satellite for example), depending on model

you won't be able to combine two slow wifi and suddenly have enough speed for Netflix for example, since you're still using two connections, and netflix will only talk to one of them. however if you're surfing and doing email for example, the router can bounce requests between connections, net result, faster service.
  • There are several on the market. I have used one of the Alfa usb connected adapters and had good luck with them. Especially bringing in signal from a distance. Alfa also now makes a repeater with a external antenna that attaches outside of the RV that seems by posts I had read seems to work really good. WeBoost also makes a good booster from all accounts so best bet would be to research and research some more. Look for videos on what others feel about their experience.
