2014 GS RV Travel Guide
I picked up the 2014 edition of the RV Travel Guide on my last trip to Camping World and it is pretty impressive with its nearly 1700 pages but I discovered what I think is a whopper on page 53. In a story about taking a shakedown cruise in your new RV, the author states the following when discussing the wastewater setup: "A good practice once you connect to the sewer is to leave the black tank valve open and the gray water valve closed while in camp until it's time to go. That way, when you pull the handle on the gray tank, it will help push any solids through the hoses and into the campground sewer." Seems to me that would result in one big poop pile in the black tank (don't ask me how I know - I learned all about it 40 years ago). But I don't think I want to be camped next to the author when he is trying out this advice.
