"4 free issues of Trailer Life" is not true

Mark with GSC called my house about 10 minutes after I hit the "send" button. By that time I had calmed down and looked at everything analytically and figured it out (ready-fire-aim).
On TL's website the usual price for a 12 month subscription is $17.97. 8/12's of that is $11.97 which is what a GSC member pays for a 12 month subscription to TL. SO, the 4 months free is already included in the $11.97 price ($11.97 = 66% of the normal subscription price).
The brochures are misleading and all it would take is to add a parenthesis showing the normal 12 month price of the subscription so you could see that you are already getting the 4 free issues in the $11.97 price. He agreed to chase down that correction because Customer Service has been trying to get that changed as well because they get a lot of questions.
Sadly neither of the customer service reps at TL or GSC provided this explanation and both thought the free issues were only for non-subscribers, so there must be internal confusion on this as well (and demonstrated by my success in getting 16 issues for price of 12 in the past).
Hopefully they can get everyone on the same page on how this works. The brochure is technically correct but creates the illusion that the subscription is cheaper than it really is.
Meanwhile, I'm off to uncover more conspiracies!
