I have been a loyal Good Sam Club Life member for many years and have to subscribed to various products advertised by Good Sam and Underwritten by Affinity Brokerage, LLC. We recently sold our travel trailer and took time to print out the transfer application form and presented it to the new owner along with the title. I called today to cancel my coverage due to expire on 12/17/17. I was informed by the customer service rep that Affinity Brokerage, LLC would be charging my credit card a "cancellation fee"of $50. He informed me that I was my responsibility to send in the transfer form before I sold the trailer sold that Affinity Brokerage, LLC could "reach out" to the new buyer. When I protested the charge the rep pointed out to me that this cancellation fee is addressed in Part One of the policy. Shame on Affinity Brokerage, LLC for charging a the cancellation "ransom fee" and shame on me for not reading over the documentation more carefully. I urge my fellow members to review documents carefully before buying any products from the Good Sam Club. Now that our travel trailer has been sold we are using part of the funds to purchase a new Class C motorhome. You can be certain that I will not buy that motor home from Camping World nor will I purchase the Extended Service Plan from the Good Sam Club. As a Life Good Sam Member I will continue RV travel based on the traditions of the Good Sam Club, but I will not renew subscriptions to my other services from Affinity Brokerage, LLC.

You've got to be kidding. So if you don't give them a chance to resell to a new customer, they screw you over.It just keeps getting worse.

Good Sam and CW should ask Amazon for help. Several times my shipment did not arrive, I called and my account was immediately credited and I reordered the product with 24 hr delivery. That's customer service.

I thought I would update my post. I did receive a phone call from a supervisor at ESP customer service with an apology shorty after my post and I was informed that I would receive a refund for $35.73 in within 7 to 10 business and no $50 penalty. He explained that policies are have been in force as long a mine are not subject to the $50 penalty, only cases where someone buys coverage for a short period of time and then cancels.

On 11/18/176 I received a cancellation notice indicating a refund due of $35.73. I haven't seen a refund on my credit card as of this post. What angered me the most was the fact that the first rep I spoke with informed me that I would be penalized $40 whether I cancelled or simply let the plan expire. And no, I did not misunderstand because I asked the rep to repeat his statement. The initial rep apparently was inexperienced. and did not know his product well. My original intent was to not to cancel my policy but rather for my buyer to continue the plan in his name and take the credit along with the discounted one year Good Sam Club membership. He apparently was not interested and I did not want to continue receiving billing statements from Affinity so I called to inform ESP of my intentions.
As a Good Sam Club Life member I will continue my promise to help fellow travelers on America's highways, but I will be extra careful when I shop for the service plans that the Good Sam Club offers.

So.....only took 5 months to get off the hook for things jammed down your throat while signing the papers? All while you were paying interest to the GS affiliated financing during the process I assume? Sounds like a win, not sure for whom.

This may have happened over your place, but my money is not on it happening over the OP's place and Bowling Green KY at the same time anytime soon, if ever LOL.

Here's a little Positive within a Negative thanks to Ella. We purchased our first ever RV in June 2017(love the camper)along with several GS add-on's. Decided we didn't need them. So we cancelled them in time for full refund. Today, Nov 14th we received our refund! Though we have not been compensated by CW for all the interest we paid over the past several months for Good Sam add-on's that were cancelled months ago. But thank you Ella and Cory the new finance manager. Had to post this here due to original topic being closed.

Negativity spreads like wildfire, so in cases like this, the resolution and the OP's satisfaction with it would do wonders. Perhaps it is never resolved as implied.
