Well toedtoes - I was glad to read my husband and I were not alone. We had a wheel bearing blow out on a trailer Friday the 23rd and 1:30. Called GS they said they would tow, no we can tow it, it is a wheel issue-explained in detail the wheel bearings had blown out, the cap was gone as was the hub. So they said they would send mobile mech. Shortly later about 1:45 we got text stating eta was 3:45. Ok. Well at 20 after 4 we called GS and asked where they were. (phone call from provider to inform us of late arrival would have gone a long way-common courtesy!) GS could not get a hold of the company, no one answering the phone. That should have bee a red flag. Finally someone showed up, he had no parts, had to take wheel off and go get parts, right now it is 5 pm Friday on a holiday weekend. He was nice enough but very rough with trying to get parts off the camper. He finally got it opened and could not tell so he went to the other side and pulled the wheel off there to get the parts need out to take and get the replacement parts. He said he only works until 5 and it would be fixed tomorrow A.M. (huh 24 hour service??) We called GS and they said the person back at the shop said IF he could find the parts he would get it fixed that night. We also had two large dogs and now had been sitting in a rest area parking lot for over 4 hours now. We asked for someone to please contact us so we could make a decision on what to do. The service provider told us no problem there is 24 hour security at that rest area. Incorrect-we had already tried to find them and were told by the cleaning people they were only there at night. No one ever called us back, we made the decision to take the dogs home (75 miles away) and return the next morning. We again were assured someone would call us in the morning. Right, we finally started calling at 9:15 to find out what was going on. Answer from provider-well I am at the parts counter now. When we drive the 75 miles back the service provider had been there only about 10 minutes and guess what HAD THE INCORRECT PARTS.
OK long story short, left-over 2 hours later came back with incorrect parts yet a second time. Asked us to follow him to NAPA, which we did with no bearing cover, and they don't have the part. The provider than shook my husbands hand and said sorry i can't help you and left.
We continued to point out there was a Camping World within 20 miles of where we were could they just go there to get parts.
GS response after several calls was to have NAPA order the part on Sat afternoon, holiday weekend after 3 pm. So my choices were leave our trailer in an area we had no idea how safe it was for it to be there until Tues AM. or camp in the parking lot with no water or electric. Not good options. By 3 pm Sat I was definitely out of control and yelled at everyone at GS. It is not GS fault, They are sitting at a desk and have no control, I get that. THAT BEING SAID THEY NEED TO DO A BETTER JOB CONTRACTING WITH SERVICE PROVIDERS WHO HAVE AT LEAST A MINIMUM OF EXPERIENCE WITH RV'S. AND 24 HOUR SERVICE SHOULD MEAN YOU CAN GET ACTUAL HELP FOR 24 HOURS NOT AFTER 24 HOURS IF WE CAN'T FIX YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN.
I did at some point Friday night ask GS if we could get flat bed tow as it was not able to be towed. Never got a real answer. The men at the NAPA on Philips Hwy in Jacksonville bent over backwards trying to invent a part that would work and get us home. after over an hour of thinking outside the box we slowly made our way home no thanks to the service provider provided by GOOD SAM.
