Just to follow up on this thread and provide closure:
I spoke with Frank at GSRA. He listened to the recordings of the 2 calls I placed to GSRA. He agreed that I did not receive the appropriate service per GSRA standards. He assures me this was a "fluke" incident and that they take it very seriously. GSRA is reimbursing me my out-of-pocket costs for the tow I received from AAA.
I am satisfied with the final outcome and I will remain a GSRA member (as well as a AAA member - for about $200/year, having both does give me more peace of mind and the ability to choose the best option at the time of need).
