has anyone had any experience with the cw extended awning warranty.i am purchasing a new 8500 awning and they offered the option of buying the 3 year extended warranty it is suppose to take care of just about anything happening and it will be covered with a deductable what do yo all think i am a new goodsam member and am not sure how well these warranties work.
I know that this thread is old, but I have just used my 3 year extended awning warranty on my 8500 Dometic A&E Awning.
I have had it for 2 years and 2 months and it started to come apart.
I went to my local Camping World with pictures of it and my receipt and Lisa at the service desk took all the info and called the warranty company and made the claim.
She said that it would take 3 to 7 days to hear back. 7 days later I received a call from Camping World that the claim had been approved and they would ship it to them.
A week later Camping World Called and told me that it was there and I made an appointment for 8 AM a few days later and had it installed with not a cent out of my pocket.
The only problem was that, I was told, that Dometic had changed the pattern,it was not a direct match but the same color. The Azure that they shipped was not as nice as the original Sky Blue. The pattern is very different.
This is what I had

This is what it was replaced with Azure on the right.

No definite lines but it fades from light to dark and it is not as dark as the Sky Blue or as nice.
It had to be replaced but it is too bad that I could not get the exact replacement in style and color, it also seems to be of a lighter grade of fabric.
This has nothing to do with Camping World, but with the changes that Dometic has made in their product.
The people, Lisa the service writer and Manuel the mechanic that installed the awning, were outstanding, friendly, informative and both did a great job, representing the company and the La Mirada Ca. location.
The process worked as to the way the warranty company, AmTrust, performed by giving the approval and shipping the awning in a timely manner.
The product that Dometic has as a replacement leaves something to be desired.
