Bad experience with Good Sam roadside assistance
Have had GS roadside assistance for approx. 6 years. Had to use 3 times and received no help all 3 times.
1st time we had class B we were in North Carolina and due to bad gas our vehicle died on the interstate we contacted GS and they were sending someone. After hours of waiting and numerous phone calls with GS no one arrived to help ..Around 11pm We contacted a friend we knew in South Carolina who was able to tow us to his place and we had Class B fixed in the morning. This was around 5 years ago.
2nd Time. June 11/16. Class A MH blew tire on way to Tennessee blew tire just south of Cincinnati called GS they found someone to come and put on spare tire but it would be 3-3.5 hours GS called back to see if they arrived said no they called him again said another hour. We said o.k. Hour past then another after 6 hours a Good Samaritan came by and had equipment so my husband and him changed tire.
3rd time. June 19/16. On return trip from Tennessee the tire beside the spare we just replaced blew and took out the spare we had just replaced as well this happened on the QEW highway in Ontario.Called GS after waiting on hold for around half hour finally got some one. Gave person all info and because we needed tires had to transfer to another department another wait meanwhile the police were very concerned about how close we were to the travel portion of the highway where we were and authorized construction barrier trucks to park behind us to protect us.Finally get other person give all info and am informed they have no supplier in Ontario but he could get some numbers for us to call to see if we could get them to come. By this time there is a tow truck and the police.the driver of the tow truck made numerous calls and finally was able to obtain the services we required 60kms away.
It is hard to believe 3 times no help It was about 95 in the shade and a dangerous situation police said if someone hits us we would be responsible and someone could get hurt.
It also seems that service from GS may not be for travel in Canada
This is just our experience but people need to be advised.
