CAMPER WORLD GOOD SAM

on 11th of june, on our way home from florida, i stopped a roadside res outside of ST Augustine. while there i was walking the dog and checking out my tt for any possible problem. i soon discover i have a tire that is in need of changing. having purchased road assistance from camping world, i limped to their nearest store. tried to buy a new tire. well they didn't have one in the size i needed. so i showed them my good sam card and asked that they put on my spare. i could have done it, but being 70 years old and having purchased the assistance, why not use it? well camping world told me they didn't honor good sam. i could call for a service from good sam or pay them to change it!! calling for service they said it would be sometime in the afternoon, it was 8 am. well $81 dollars and 2 hrs later i was on the road. camping world said good sam SHOULD reimburse me.
time will tell.

WELL IT'S BEEN 3 WEEKS, NO WORD FROM GOOD SAM.
GUESS I'LL WRITE IT OFF AS A LESSON LEARNED!!!!!!

  • Tyler0215... I was thinking could have offered someone out in the parking lot and got it done for 25.00 or go on to a truck stop and gotten help there?

Guess labor is at 150/hr so 75 plus shop supplies (??) and tax equal 81.00?
    Ouch.

    Love that 20/20 hindsight.

Hope OP gets some help with this from GS.

  • Changing a tire on a TT in a non-emergency and non-dangerous place is something you should have been able to do in thirty minutes. Park for shade, bust lugs loose, run good tireup a ramp, take off flat, install spare, finger tighten, get off ramp, and tighten to specs. I’m 69. It’s brains and planning, not age.
  • I can understand CW not changing the tire under the GS ERS...not saying I agree with it, just that I understand it. The 5 hour or more wait from ERS was no where near being acceptable.

For 81.00, if CW had your size tire in stock, could have added maybe 25.00 and gotten a new tire installed? Sounds like a 1/2 hour labor charge.

My experiences have been 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on location and holiday travel. All have been excellent service from GSERS.

Sorry for your misfortune and do hope GS comes through for you.
