Camping World Parking

We went to CW in Dothan today, we could not get a parking place due to one entrance and the entire parking lot spaces blocked with RV's. I asked what the deal was and was told that the district manager required it so there would only be one entrance (going into the store and people would buy more that way) One fact for sure a big unit could not be able to get into CW as the other entrance is to narrow and if he did get in, there would be no parking space. Needless to say we left (no parking available) and went down the street to spend our money. There were several cars following us out too and went to the same dealer down the street. I will not return until this mess, (and I state that lightly)is straightened up.

miffed is not the word I am looking for or thinking, but thank goodness the dealer up the street had the items I needed ...Maybe I should have gotten my TT from him..

And Amazon probably had the items even cheaper with free shipping and no sales tax in many states!
  • This is also a big problem with the Camping World location in Tucson, Arizona.

Ive seen this from time to time at the Valencia location as well. The are so many RV's from that side of the business you can't get into the store. So I leave..

And trying to get into there while driving an RV is laughable
  • you want to see a real snafu go to Cocoa in fl worst i've ever seen for a rv store parking
  • About every other CW I go to the parking situation is a disaster. Many have NO parking for RV's. As one manager explained to me...it was a corporate decision for them to stock so many RV's for sale and use the customer RV parking areas for storing/showing those.

The last CW I visited in Burlington WA had a big parking lot...but only for CARS. No space for your RV. after driving around the building twice hoping for a place to park i finally just abandoned it in the middle of their lot and went in the store.

If your customers are primarily RV'ers doesnt it make good economic, business and customer relations sense to provide some parking for those vehicles?

this is another way that CW, which can be quite good in some areas, falls flat on it's face.
