CB raido for RV use

I still have my 23 channel Realistic and a 40 channel Cobra haven't used them since the mid 70's though. I keep saying that I am going to hook it up and use it but have never got around to doing it yet. It would be good to have for road conditions when traveling though. When I was using the CB on a regular basis I did meet a lot of friendly people. There used to be a bumper sticker for RVer's that stated "I monitor channel 13", though I haven't seen one in years. Times change and technology goes forward. JMO

Use it every camping season,weather alert also. It has saved us many times from being stuck in traffic. Instead of sitting there scratching your head about the traffic backup,you will know whats up. Many times get off before traffic jam ,reroute, or eat lunch or roadside rest.Anything is better than sitting in it for hours .

X2.. Except they are my kids and not grand kids.... They is some really foul language on there today.. Either that , or I am recalling getting older?:h

Recently picked up a brand new Cobra CB in the box at a church yard sale. It's not the newest model but was brand new. Just could not pass up the $2.00 price.

Now to find a similar bargain on the zero ground plane antenna for the motor home.

If anyone knows of where to find bargain antennas please let me know.

Used to belong to a CB club back up north.
We monitored Lake and McHenry counties back in IL.

CB's still exist? CB's were a big part of life when I was younger. My dad was on the local REACT team, we had a base station and every vehicle has a CB in it. My dad's handle was Kingfish, my mom was Gal Friday. I was PJ...and I still use that nickname today! Loved listening to the skip from far away states and hear what was going on. Man, I miss those days.
