Choose repair facility

Several months ago, one of the GS admins said that they were working on a program where the user could pick their own repair facility (within x amount of miles). Is this still in the works? For instance, I have a friend that is a mechanic and if my truck broke down, I would want it towed to my house (if I broke down locally) vs towed to the nearest repair facility. That's one thing I really liked about AAA. They would tow me where ever I wanted within 100 miles with the plan I had.

  • Wes, is there a way to upgrade from the Platinum to the Platinum Plus? I have another year left on the Platinum, but would like to maybe upgrade to the Plus.

I was more thinking about towing a vehicle after a breakdown. If I blow a transmission in my truck, GS isn't going to pay for anything but the tow. I would rather my mechanic work on my vehicle than the dealer because of the $$$$.

I'm also 'guessing' that the choice of repair facility will be from the repair shops that are already contractors for GS, not the whole list of them in the yellow pages.:C

Within the Confines of the Platinum Plus plan we will tow you where ever you want to go within that 100 Mile radius. Also remember Good Sam Roadside Assistance does not pay for any Parts or Labor for any repair work that is done.

  • Hello Burch,

In fact we have recently launched the Good Sam Roadside Assistance Platinum Plus program. This coverage while not only providing you with the best Roadside Assistance on the market, it pays 100% of the towing fees for the delivery of the vehicle to the nearest professional service center capable and willing to repair the vehicle OR we’ll pay for the towing fees for the delivery of your vehicle to any other destination of choice within 100 miles of the disablement location.

For more information I would recommend calling us at 1-866-298-2929 or checking us out on the web at http://www.goodsamroadside.com.
