Considering Plan

We are looking for a roadside assistance plan and had been considering AAA until friends recommended Good Sam. Since we already have a membership that seemed like a good idea. One of our concerns is that since we are unmarried would the protection plan offered by Good Sam include both of us? AAA does extend protection to unmarried couples. I emailed Good Sam Protection and inquired but was told that protection would only be extended to vehicle(s) that are registered to both parties. We have chosen to keep our individual vehicles registered accordingly however, since we cohabitate, vehicles are registered at the same address and we are on the same insurance policy. We would really like to clear up the issue prior to choosing a plan just to find out that one of us isn't covered in the event it becomes necessary to receive assistance. At the time of this posting we have three weeks until we hit the road for two months and would be purchasing a plan (be it AAA or Good Sam) within the next couple of days.

While I appreciate your suggestion, I'm not going to get married just for the roadside assistance plan. AAA doesn't have an issue with unmarried plan-holders. Perhaps that's the one we need.

Just as an FYI we carry both AAA and GSRA programs. When one doesn't work the other one will. We have had good luck with both. AAA seems to be faster, but you have to do your own repair shop locating whereas GSRA will do that for you before they call a tow truck.
