CW protection plan dissatisfaction

Dear Marcus
I am discussed with the extended warranty coverage plan that we purchased for $5000.00 at CW in Oakwood, GA. Every time we have a problem they find a reason it is not covered. Their sales person called the plan a total wrap as did your printed sheet on his desk. He said it even covered gaskets till we needed a new one for the a/c were it meets the roof. To day our GPS went out which was factory installed and now I was told it was not covered. I am a very dissatisfied customer after purchasing a $106,000 MH and your plan

  • This is the reason years ago I quit buying extended warranties for anything.

I am still wayne_tw had it right in my opinion. See if you can negotiate a refund even if not for the full amount it cost you.
  • I turned down there offer to purchase there extended warranty on my Carriage. They sent me a quote and the price was about average but as I read it they clearly stipulate they WON'T cover pre-existing issues and I can agree with that, except when I ask where I needed to take the unit for there pre-inspection she said "Oh, you don't have to because your units a 2011. I told her I would prefer to have them look it over and again she said "that's won't be necessary", NOW am I stupid or can everyone else see exactly what kind of Loop-hole situation I'll be in if or when I have a issue and need to file a claim. "DENIED" we can't approve this repair because we don't know if it was a pre-existing problem or not.

  • Dennis, that is the very business model of these "extended warranty" plans. They have all the reasons why their very carefully worded contract will not cover a repair. However, the equally carefully worded sales brochure leads one to believe that "everything" is covered.

You would be very wise to negotiate a refund, probably prorated, on the purchase of this warranty and just cover any repairs yourself. Statistically you will be money ahead.
