I was just trying to make a purchase from CW. I am a lifetime member and was told when I signed up for the lifetime that all lifetime members get free CW shipping with any orders over $25. I was also told this would be good for life. Today I find out that the policy has changed and now it is free with orders over $99 just like all members! This was one of the reasons that I bought the lifetime membership! What really burns me is the fact that I did not get any notice of these changes! With all the email and snail mail offers I get on weekly if not sometime DAILY basis they could not send out an email with these changes?? I wonder what other "changes" they have made that I won't be happy about?!? Anyone's input would be greatly appreciated!! P.S. I would doubt very much that anyone at GS or CW replies to this!

Nope, they told me on the phone it's been about 8 months. Placed an order last summer that was like$30 and got free shipping!!

Well, this wouldn't work every time, but for me my local CW is about 25 mi from home. In order to minimize costs I sometimes call the shop and ask if a certain item is in stock. If so, it probably costs less to drive than for the shipping. Just have to calculate in in my mind whether the drive and the time are worth it.

I haven't made a CW purchase for the last two years because of shipping. I can buy at the local RV dealer who gives me 10% discount, pay the state sales tax and still be cheaper than CW with shipping. I also make a lot of purchases on Ebay and online places like PPL which often have free shipping.

CW is changing an important feature to some members, (free shipping) without notice.

I know,"subject to change without notice" is the standard in retail, but Good Sam is presented as a "Club". It has a roster, and in today's world, a heads up, to members, sure would have been professional and possible.

Just so I am clear, I happen to agree with the minimum purchase. In the past when CW offered unrestricted free shipping, they were hit with purchases of $2.00 that cost them $5.00 to ship. That is not right either.

Considering that free shipping over $99.00 for all and most would be buying items for much more than $2.00. Those who buy large items worth hundreds of dollars would balance the few that buy $2.00 items.

I've found that CW's shipping charges are often what pushes me towards Amazon.
